Position Summary

The Treatment Technician provides hands-on support for Beacon’s specialty treatment programs, which may include TMS, Spravato, and other approved treatment services. This role is primarily responsible for preparing and supporting the actual treatment process, including treatment room setup, patient preparation, equipment support, documentation, and patient monitoring as appropriate.

In addition to supporting treatment delivery, the Treatment Technician may assist with treatment coordination duties such as scheduling, patient communication, documentation tracking, and workflow follow-up to help ensure the program runs smoothly.

Key responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, supplies, and required materials prior to patient appointments.

Support or perform assigned treatment-related tasks in accordance with Beacon protocols, provider direction, training requirements, and applicable scope of practice.

Assist with patient check-in, treatment preparation, treatment setup, and post-treatment workflow.

Collect and document basic patient information as appropriate, which may include vitals, treatment notes, patient-reported updates, or other required documentation.

Monitor patients during assigned treatment workflows and escalate concerns to licensed clinical staff or providers as appropriate.

Support TMS, Spravato, or other specialty treatment sessions based on clinic needs and completed training.

Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment areas.

Follow all safety, compliance, documentation, infection control, and equipment-use protocols.

Help coordinate patient treatment schedules, recurring appointments, cancellations, and rescheduling as needed.

Communicate with patients regarding appointment expectations, treatment preparation, and general process questions.

Assist with referral tracking, authorization follow-up, documentation readiness, and treatment calendar maintenance.

Partner with Treatment Coordinators, providers, and clinic leadership to ensure patients move through the treatment process smoothly.

Complete required treatment-specific training and maintain competency with assigned equipment or workflows.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, outpatient clinic, or specialty treatment setting preferred.
  • Ability to follow clinical protocols, safety standards, and provider direction.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort documenting accurately in an electronic health record.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with patients, providers, and clinic team members.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to support both treatment delivery and basic coordination needs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced patient care environment.
  • Must complete all required training for assigned treatment services.
  • Preferred experience
  • Experience supporting TMS, Spravato, interventional psychiatry, medication management, or similar treatment services.
  • Medical Assistant certification or relevant clinical training preferred, depending on clinic needs.
  • Behavioral health or psychiatry experience preferred.
  • Experience with patient scheduling, authorizations, referrals, or treatment coordination preferred.

Program assignment

This role may support TMS, Spravato, or other specialty treatment services. Specific treatment responsibilities may vary based on clinic needs, training, and applicable scope of practice.

Requirements

Preferred candidates have experience as a Medical Assistant or have worked in a behavioral health or outpatient clinic setting. Must be able to follow clinical protocols, maintain accurate EHR documentation, and communicate professionally with patients and providers.
