Provide comprehensive antepartum, intrapartum, and immediate postpartum nursing care, performing ongoing maternal and fetal assessments and implementing evidence-based interventions for both routine and high-risk pregnancies.

Monitor and interpret external and internal fetal heart rate tracings, recognize signs of maternal or fetal distress, and respond rapidly to obstetric emergencies, including emergency deliveries and labor complications.

Perform specialized Labor & Delivery procedures including cervical assessments, sterile vaginal exams, IV therapy, epidural management, medication administration, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing while maintaining strict aseptic technique.

Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia providers, neonatology, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate individualized care, ensure safe patient handoffs using SBAR, and deliver patient and family education throughout the birth experience.

Maintain the highest standards of patient safety through accurate documentation, infection prevention, informed consent verification, advocacy, regulatory compliance, and newborn security practices.

Job Requirements Required Six (6) month current medical /surgical nursing maternal-child nursing or speciality area experience Registered Nurse: CA RN, upon hire Basic Life Support - BLS, upon hire Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS, upon hire Neonatal Resuscitation Program - NRP upon hire Preferred Spanish speaking experience

Requirements

Requires a CA RN license and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP. Candidates must have at least six months of experience in medical/surgical, maternal-child, or a related specialty area.
