About this Candidate Pool

Isaiah House is accepting applications to build a pool of qualified candidates for current and future Clinical Therapist openings. This posting may not represent an immediate vacancy. Applicants may be considered for the following positions

  • Clinical Therapist – Provides clinical assessments, counseling, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and other therapeutic services to assigned clients.
  • Lead Clinical Therapist – Performs the responsibilities of a Clinical Therapist while also providing supervision, guidance, and support to therapists at the assigned location. Must have appropriate credentials to supervise.

Location

Kentucky: Candidates may be considered for current or future openings in Harrodsburg, Louisville, Chaplin, Willisburg, or Lexington. Candidates will generally be considered for the location closest to the address listed on their application, unless they indicate a willingness to travel to another location. Positions are primarily on-site; however, remote candidates may be considered depending on the needs of the role.

Position Summary

The Clinical Therapist is vital to Isaiah House Treatment Center because it provides counseling, assessments, treatment planning, crisis support, referrals, and therapeutic interventions for individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health needs. By following agency policies, HIPAA requirements, Kentucky standards, and treatment guidelines, this role helps ensure clients receive safe, ethical, and effective care. Through risk assessments, safety planning, teamwork, documentation, and recovery-focused support, this position helps clients build stability, strengthen recovery skills, and work toward long-term success. Schedule: Full-time, Schedule TBD upon Offer Work Environment: In Office (Remote availability may be considered) Travel Requirements: Rarely Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation Requires sitting for extended periods while completing documentation, treatment planning, and computer-based tasks. Requires standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility to interact with clients, attend meetings, and respond to clinical needs. May require occasional bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying light office materials up to 25 pounds. Must be able to communicate clearly with clients, staff, and other professionals. Must be able to observe client behavior and respond appropriately in routine or crisis situations. Key Responsibilities: Provide counseling and therapeutic interventions to clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health needs. Complete clinical assessments, psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, referrals, and required documentation. Maintain a client caseload while following agency policies, HIPAA requirements, and Kentucky mental health and substance abuse standards. Assess client risk levels, create safety plans, and provide crisis counseling when needed. Participate in weekly case conferences, trainings, and team meetings to support coordinated client care.

Requirements

Required Qaulifications: Master’s degree or higher in mental health counseling, psychology, behavioral science, social work, or an equivalent field Must possess a current, valid, and unrestricted Kentucky license or associate license. Acceptable licenses include LPCC, LCSW, LPCA, CADC, CSW, or LCADC. One or more years of licensed clinical experience preferred, including experience working with substance use disorders, recovery, mental health, and co-occurring disorders in a residential or intensive outpatient setting. Experience with crisis intervention, conflict resolution, medication-assisted treatment, and working with various funding streams in collaboration with billing departments preferred. Strong clinical assessment, counseling, treatment planning, communication, documentation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
