About the role

The registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care to protect, promote, and optimize patient health. Responsibilities include preventing illness and injury while partnering with patients and families to implement individualized care plans.

  • Note: Must be telemetry competent within 6 months of hire into role as well as successfully complete ICU/PICU training

Responsibilities

Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Patient and Family Centered Care model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by: Protecting, promoting, and optimizing health Preventing illness and injury Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1 year of recent professional nursing (RN) in an inpatient Med/Surg setting Graduation from an accredited school of nursing Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications

Burn or ICU experience preferred Certification in area of clinical specialty BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.

Requirements

Candidates must have at least one year of recent professional nursing experience in an inpatient Med/Surg setting and a valid Minnesota RN license. A BSN and experience in Burn or ICU settings are preferred.
