  • Summary: The RN Oncology provides specialized nursing care to patients receiving cancer treatments and to those with complex medical needs within the oncology service line. This role delivers comprehensive assessments, administers chemotherapy and supportive therapies, and closely monitors patients for treatment response and potential adverse effects. Working as part of a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team, the RN Oncology supports patients and families through education, symptom management, and compassionate guidance throughout the care journey. This position contributes to safe, evidence-based oncology practice and high-quality outcomes through close coordination with physicians, pharmacists, and other care team members.

  • Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for oncology patients in alignment with clinical standards and treatment protocols. Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer-related treatments safely and accurately while monitoring for side effects and patient tolerance. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, symptom management, and available supportive resources. Maintain precise documentation of assessments, interventions, treatment administration, and patient responses in the electronic health record. Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, clarify treatment orders, and support continuity of care. Monitor patients for clinical changes and respond quickly to urgent needs to promote safety and treatment effectiveness.
