Position Overview

The RNA performs restorative and rehabilitation care programs as directed by Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and nursing leadership to support residents’ mobility, strength, and independence in accordance with individualized care plans.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide restorative care including ambulation, range of motion, and mobility exercises
• Encourage and assist residents with ADLs and functional independence
• Assist with transfers, positioning, lifting, and transport safely using proper body mechanics
• Document resident participation, progress, and responses per facility guidelines
• Coordinate and support restorative programs including splinting and weight-bearing therapy
• Monitor and maintain adaptive equipment and report needed repairs
• Communicate resident status and needs to nursing and rehab staff
• Respond promptly to call lights and ensure resident safety and dignity
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and resident rights at all times
• Participate in in-service trainings and support emergency procedures as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current CNA certification required
• Current RNA certification required
• Prior experience in long-term care or rehab setting preferred
• Strong communication, compassion, and teamwork skills

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs independently and over 100 lbs with assistance
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and physical activity required
• Ability to work in a skilled nursing environment with emotionally and physically demanding situations
