About the role

Provide in-person psychotherapy services to adult and geriatric populations across various care facilities and home settings. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and providers to deliver integrated primary care.

Penobscot Community Health Care is seeking an experienced, part-time, Psychotherapist (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT) interested in working with the adult and geriatric population in person at area nursing homes, boarding homes, assisted living facilities and homebound patients as part of our Community Care and Geriatrics (CCG) team.

CCG is a well-established team of highly skilled physicians, advanced practice providers, psychotherapists, and medical assistants focused on providing primary care in a variety of facility and in-home-care settings throughout the Greater Bangor Region.

Fully licensed clinicians with at least two years of experience in therapy are strongly preferred for this role.

Highlights

This position is part-time, planned for 30 hours per week, 3 ten hour days (some flexibility in schedule may be available)

A high level of autonomy and flexibility is required for this role.

All facilities are located within 1-1.5 hours commute and include Bangor, Camden, Belfast, Ellsworth Skowhegan and possibly others.

Your schedule will be set at primary facility locations and mileage reimbursement is available.

Work closely with PCHC colleagues and with individual facility team members.

The CCG Therapist will have a dual reporting relationship with both the Therapy and CCG leadership teams.

Comfort in managing multiple priorities and skillful communication with multiple stakeholders is key in this role.

Clinical practice experience working with the adult and geriatric patient population experiencing grief/loss, supporting the aging process, and accepting and managing new health diagnoses will be critical.

Having a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and/or an appropriate length of driving experience for insurance purposes is required. Any concerns raised by the results of a driving record check will be subject to an individualized review to determine whether the infraction is relevant to the individual’s ability to perform the responsibilities of the position, in accordance with PCHC’s Automobile Safety and Background Check policy.

This position works in a Designated Healthcare Facility which is subject to the State of Maine’s immunization requirements for healthcare workers. The successful candidate will be required to show a Certificate of Immunization, or Proof of Immunity, against 1.) Rubeola (measles); Mumps; Rubella (German measles); Varicella; Hepatitis B; and Influenza.
