Southeastern Virginia Training Center is hiring Direct Support Professional to join our team. At Southeastern Virginia Training Center (SEVTC) we serve citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are an intermediate care facility operated by the Department of Behavioral health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) where we support individuals in state-of-the-art homes with accommodations unique to their specific needs. These positions are considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need. All SEVTC positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested.
Assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, and support for mobility.
Utilize behavior management strategies to support individuals exhibiting maladaptive behaviors.
Provide emotional and behavioral support while promoting independence.
Implement behavior intervention plans and work collaboratively with a support team.
Foster a safe, structured, and positive environment.
6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
1st shift weekend $3.00/hr.

Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other disabilities
Prior experience working with medically fragile individuals.
Prior experience as a Direct Support Professional, a Certified Nursing Assistant, or similar role.
Demonstrated experience working with electronic medical records.
