About the role

Responsible for producing high-quality radiologic images for patient diagnosis and treatment while maintaining high standards of patient care. Duties include preparing patients for procedures, recording digital images, and ensuring radiation safety.

Job Summary This position is per diem at our Main Hospital in Dover, NH. We have 4 exam rooms, with 3 portables and our equipment includes Samsung, Vistek, Agfa portable, GE Oec CArms and Philips. 1 shift per month minimum required.

No Call or Holiday coverage required however shifts are available.

Summary

Responsible for providing an advanced clinical level of quality patient care while producing radiologic images used for patient diagnosis and treatment. The responsibilities also include completing x-rays effectively and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care possible in order to provide the most remarkable patient experience.

Essential Functions

  • Determines appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patients condition to obtain quality images for radiologists; this level may provide an advanced clinical level of patient care
  • Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures which may include transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and position patients
  • Explains procedures to patients taking into consideration physical and emotional needs
  • Records digital images as directed for radiologist interpretation
  • Maintains pertinent records
  • Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards
  • May provide assistance to Radiology Technologist Students and new staff in performing Radiologic exams, sterile technique, and proper stocking of supplies in radiographic rooms

Qualifications

Education Associate's Degree Diagnostic Imaging required; if student must have completed required student competencies.

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials NH Radiologic Technologist required; students must obtain NH license upon program completion. Technologist [ARRT-R] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required; students must obtain within 1 year of program completion. Basic Life Support required

Experience radiology Technician experience with multiple patient populations 2-3 years preferred

Requirements

Requires an Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Imaging and NH Radiologic Technologist licensure. ARRT-R certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) are also required.
