Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for extracorporeal life support (ECLS) patients. Responds to routine and emergency needs of ECLS patients and supports a team of specialists providing care for ECLS patients.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates expertise in caring for the most critical patients by monitoring the ECLS circuit and patient status and responding to the needs of the patient on ECLS. Monitors the ECLS patient and circuit to anticipate and prevent potential problems. Identifies and corrects problems associated with ECLS procedures. Responds to routine or emergency ECLS needs. Serves as a resource to and supports bedside specialists providing care for ECLS patients. Collaborates with members of the healthcare team to develop a plan of care. Assists with planning, conducting, and evaluating educational activities regarding extracorporeal life support for professionals, patients and families, and the public. Contributes to quality initiatives and the development and maintenance of policies and procedures of ECLS. Minimum Requirements Education Nursing Diploma/Associate's Experience 2-5 years Licenses & Certifications Basic Cardiovascular Life Sup RN Preferred Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree

Requirements

Requires a Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree, RN license, and BCLS certification, with at least 2 years of ECMO and 4 years of ICU experience. A Bachelor's degree and experience in AKRT or leadership are preferred.
