About the role

Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy for inpatient psychiatric patients. Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team and manage crisis interventions and discharge planning.

Overview

JOB SPECIFICS Clinical Assessment and Treatment Conduct psychosocial assessments and behavioral health evaluations upon admission.

Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, diagnoses, strengths, and goals.

Provide evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy services.

Evaluate patient progress and modify treatment interventions as appropriate.

Perform suicide risk, violence risk, and safety assessments.

Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Care Coordination Collaborate with psychiatrists, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, case managers, social workers, and other members of the treatment team.

Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and patient care conferences.

Coordinate discharge planning and aftercare services, including referrals to outpatient providers, community resources, and support services.

Communicate treatment recommendations and progress with patients and family members when appropriate.

Crisis Intervention Provide crisis assessment and intervention for patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms.

Assist with de-escalation and stabilization of patients exhibiting behavioral or emotional distress.

Support implementation of safety plans and therapeutic interventions.

This is a hourly position.

Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations.

Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education

  • Master’s
  • Degree in counseling or social work
  • Licensure/Certifications:
  • Illinois licensure as a
  • LCPC or
  • LCSW
  • Other skills or knowledge: Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively provide quality patient care. Required to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as physical, emotional, and psycho-social needs of the patient population served Proven skills in written/verbal communications, problem solving, independent problem solving, decision making abilities, creativity, prioritization/delegation and necessary computer-related skill

Preferred Qualifications

Experience: 2 years of experience post master’s degree completion 2 years of experience working with the age and diagnoses of the population served Experience working in a multidisciplinary team setting OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requires a Master's degree in counseling or social work and Illinois licensure as an LCPC or LCSW. Preferred candidates have 2 years of post-master's experience working with the specific patient population in a multidisciplinary setting.
