Responsibilities

  • The Float Medical Assistant travels to rural clinics as well as the metro Oklahoma City area to assist with coverage for the physician clinics.
  • Great opportunity to learn from a variety of job functions from the various physician teams.
  • Travel is required and mileage reimbursement when applicable.
  • Under the direct supervision of the Clinic Nurse Director, Clinic Director or Supervising RN assist with daily clinic patient care such as patient flow, taking patients history and vitals, assisting with diagnostic testing maintenance of medical supplies and other duties as assigned.
  • Float or travel to OHHP locations to fill in for clinical positions on an as-needed basis, following all policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensure/Certification: BLS certification required within six (6) months of hire. Newly hired team members with a minimum of 24 months of Medical Assistant experience in the last 36 months AND worked under the direction of a licensed health care professional that did not graduate from certain Medical Assistant programs qualify for this order entry recognition. A letter of attestation is required to apply for this recognition, therefore after 6 months of employment with OHH and proven knowledge in specific required areas according to the Association of Medical Assistants (“AAMA”) Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (“ABR-OE”) program, this letter can be provided. Completion of this order entry competence program will be required within 60 days of meeting the qualifications. If a new team member is hired with no Medical Assistant experience, then they will complete the competence within 60 days after obtaining the 24 months of required Medical Assistant experience.

Experience

Six (6) months to one (1) year of continuous experience in a clinic setting preferred. As part of our team, you are empowered to work collaboratively with our physicians and other caregivers, and play an integral role in setting the standard for excellence in patient care. Requirements

A high school diploma and BLS certification are required, with a preference for six months to one year of clinic experience. Candidates must be willing to travel outside the metro area and may need to complete an order entry competence program.
