The RN serves as a circulating nurse responsible for the assessment, planning, and delivery of nursing care for surgical patients. They coordinate with the healthcare team and may be trained to perform scrubbing duties in the operating room.

The Perioperative 101 nursing program is learner centered and structured.
It is paid training program, crafted to provide niche skills and knowledge in Perioperative (OR) nursing.
Learning modules are presented through lectures, demonstrations and videos.
Learning is reinforced in the lab and clinical setting.
The classroom didactic, hands-on lab experiences and clinical practicum take place Monday through Friday on the day shift, however hours can vary.
The method of evaluation will include chapter post-tests, final examination, skill demonstrations and preceptor observation in the clinical setting.
Provides continuing education contact hours after successful completion.
One year committment after completion of orientation.
We use AORN curriculum, M Health Fairview pays the cost of the class. The Operating Room RN provides services as a circulating nurse and is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for the patient undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure, and professional practice guidelines. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate. In this role, you may be trained to scrub as well.
Required
Qualifications: A current Minnesota RN license by start date. Current BLS certification with American Heart Association or American Red Cross as a Health Care Provider required at the time of application. Strong desire/career goal to work as a RN in the Operating Room environment. Current Fairview employees who have been in their current position for a minimum for 6 months and performance in previous/current Fairview jobs will be considered.
BSN, BAN, Master’s degree in nursing or higher Previous experience in acute care nursing RN, surgical tech/technologist or as an anesthesia aide. One year of nursing experience
