Job Summary Performs duties necessary to treat patients in accordance with the physicians’ orders and department policy.
Performs all procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Therapist.
Job duties will be assigned based on student's clinical progression and competency validation.

Performs respiratory therapy procedures in accordance with the physician’s order, departmental policy, and the Respiratory Care Guidelines (RT Consult).
May not take verbal orders or modify orders.
Documents and charges for respiratory care procedures and provides patient and family education.
Communicates well with supervisors, therapists and technicians.
Provides a complete and accurate report May perform blood gasses from all sites.
Analyzes and reports results.
Adheres to infection control and quality initiatives.
Performs appropriate cleaning/disinfection of equipment between patients as indicated by equipment type and isolation status.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements Education - Currently enrolled in an approved school for respiratory care; OR new/recent graduates of a school of respiratory care who are awaiting credentialing.
Experience - No experience required.
