The Lab Assistant performs standardized phlebotomy procedures and manages specimen processing, including labeling and instrument maintenance. They also handle patient check-in, order entry, and collaborate with clinical staff to support diagnostic and treatment processes.
100% FTE, day shift.
Monday through
Friday 8:30AM – 5:00PM. No weekends or holidays required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

UW Health laboratories play an essential role in the quality and safety of patient care, performing a wide range of procedures that assist our providers with the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients and their health needs.
Perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages and ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling.
Complete specimen receiving and processing, load them onto instruments or perform the kit testing, and associated instrument maintenance (temperatures, monitoring reagents) and clerical duties (filing, mailing, faxing).
Patient check-in and order entry of laboratory tests in the laboratory information system.
Interact daily with pathologists, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, nursing unit personnel, and patients.
