Psychologist position summary

Under the guidance of the Behavioral Health Director, the Psychologist will maintain a caseload and perform duties such as conducting mental health assessments, provide therapy and counseling, administrative meetings, writing clinical reports regarding diagnoses, prognoses, and developing treatment plans that reflect the standard of practice. The Psychologist will performing clinically sound suicide risk evaluations, including clinical review, applying suicide risk assessment protocols, pertinent data/chart reviews, proper documentation, and consultations as needed.

Psychologist essential functions

Manage a caseload and ensure the accuracy of patient documentation in clinical reports, including diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment plans, in accordance with established standards of practice.

Provide individual and group therapy using various therapeutic approaches based on patient needs.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (psychiatrists, social workers, nurses) to ensure a comprehensive treatment approach.

Participate in and monitor patient treatment-planning efforts in collaboration with the behavioral health team to promote recovery and stabilization.

Conduct consultations and psychological assessments to manage and stabilize emergent situations, providing crisis intervention when necessary.

Provide education, supervision, and guidance to behavioral health staff as needed, and participate in professional development, including meetings and trainings directed by company or facility administration.

Adhere to professional ethical standards, state licensure requirements, and local regulations regarding mental health care.

Foster a professional environment and support the seamless delivery of psychological services to patients.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the clinical team and patient care.

  • Master's degree in psychology required, Ph.D or Psy.D preferred
