About the role

The Patient Care Assistant works under a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care, including hygiene, transport, and room maintenance. They are also responsible for coordinating unit communications, processing electronic orders, and assembling patient charts.

As a Patient Care Assistant you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist in delivery of patient care including personal hygiene and daily activities transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering/stocking of supplies. Responsible for coordination of communications and procedures for the nursing unit, process electronic orders and assembling patient’s charts and other necessities.

Work Schedule

32 hrs. weekly/0.8FTE; 3p-1130p with every other weekend

Required Qualifications

Must have one of the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • HS Diploma in progress and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
  • Equivalent work experience in lieu of HS diploma or equivalent may be considered
  • Valid BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

  • CNA experience
  • HUC or unit clerk experience
  • Microsoft office experience
  • Prior experience in acute care or hospital setting
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
