The Staff Nurse provides goal-directed, personalized nursing care to patients ranging from neonate to geriatric populations within the Perio & Procedural department. They work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while maintaining accountability for clinical standards.

As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing nursing care that is goal-directed and adapted to the needs of an individual, a family and/or community during health and illness.
In this role, the Staff Nurse will provide nursing care based on knowledge, skills and standards of practice which provide a foundation that allows the nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care being provided. Each professional nurse assumes primary responsibility and accountability for all nursing care provided by him/her and those directly under their supervision. The nurse is part of the multi-disciplinary team which works collaboratively in providing care to patients.

Compensation & Benefits Overview
UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.

Candidates must be graduates of an NLN accredited School of Nursing with an Associate of Science in Nursing or higher and hold a current Illinois RN license. Active BLS certification is required, while 2 years of Medical-ICU experience and ACLS certification are preferred.
