The Sonographer performs a variety of ultrasound procedures to ensure optimal image quality while maintaining patient safety. They are responsible for accurate documentation of charges in the Radiology Information System and providing professional patient care.

  • Will Do: Performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures both professional and non-clinical consistent with optimal image quality. Responsible for entering on-line charges in the computer system (Radiology Information System-RIS) and accountable for charges as specified by the Administrative Policy, ensuring a high level of accuracy. Provides patient care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism within established Radiology and Imaging National standards.

Minimum Qualifications

· Education: Graduate of a Ultrasound program, · Licensure/Certification: Registered as a Sonographer by the Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS). · Experience: Prior experience as a Sonographer highly preferred. · Effective Communication Skills · Able to perform professional duties with minimal supervision. · Possesses a high level of professionalism and the ability to establish good rapport with patients, staff, and physicians. · Current BLS Certification is required Position Highlights and Benefits: Mount Carmel Health System recognized by Forbes in 2025 as one of America’s Best State Employers. Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an ultrasound program and hold current RDMS certification. A current BLS certification is also required for this role.
