Job Description

Essential Functions

Examines patients' teeth and gums to identify any oral health issues. Cleans teeth by removing plaque, tartar, and stains. Educates patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provides advice on diet and lifestyle choices that can impact oral health. Administers local anesthesia and applies cavity-preventive agents such as fluoride and sealants. Takes and develops dental X-rays to help diagnose dental problems. Keeps detailed patient records and maintains a clean and sterile work environment.

Education Requirement

  • Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene school, required. Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
  • Licensure
  • Requirement: Licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, required.

Certifications

Certified in CPR, required.

Skills

Robust communication skills, required. Demonstrates ability to treat and teach healthy and medically compromised patients. Possesses strong manual dexterity.

Experience

Six months of relevant experience, preferred.
