About the role

Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant (Family Practice) you will perform duties such as: Make decisions concerning primary care needs of patients with physicians. Prescribe for and treat a variety of diseases, disorders and injuries for assigned patients. Discriminate between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional or mental problems of clients. Write prescriptions, order the administration of medications, dispense medications and prescribe controlled substance in accordance with approved treatment protocols. Evaluate the total health care needs of patients and develop plans to meet clients' needs.

Qualifications

US Citizenship Required At least one year of experience as a certified physician assistant treating patients in a Family Practice setting. Graduation from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARCPA), or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the Secretary, U.S. Department of Education. Successful completion of the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; must maintain status as a certified physician assistant, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education (CME) and re-certification. All Applicants must be licensed as a Physician Assistant by the recognized licensing agency of a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Requirements

Candidates must be a U.S. citizen with a valid Physician Assistant license and NCCPA certification. At least one year of experience in a Family Practice setting and graduation from an ARCPA-accredited program are required.
