  • Category: Health CareJOB SUMMARY Perform lab draws, take vitals, perform EKG’s, collect urine specimens, document in EHR, complete prior authorizations, upload medical records as needed, assist nursing staff as needed to efficiently run day to day medical operations. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Under the general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, will perform phlebotomy and related services, will help assist in preparing patients for provider appointments, use EHR for documentation, collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality patient experiences, provide support to the team with other administrative task as necessary, maintain medical supply inventory and performing preventative maintenance to keep medical equipment operating. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records. Maintains safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications. Ability to use effective communication skills among an interdisciplinary team.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to effectively use copier machines, phone, EHR and other business equipment necessary in performing assigned duties. Knowledge and ability to type different forms of business communication, such as letters, memorandums, reports, etc. Working knowledge of business English and the ability to learn medical/psychiatric terminology for spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Ability to check work for accuracy and completeness. Knowledge of Region operating procedures and the ability to provide the public with information about various Pecan Valley Centers programs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with your supervisor, direct service staff, and peers. Must have skills in providing professional communication among the interdisciplinary team and to the community. Must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision. Phlebotomy related skills and abilities.

  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is required supplemented by courses in typing, computers, or related business courses. Phlebotomy Training Program required.

  • REQUIREMENT: Must be a certified phlebotomy technician.

Experience

Prefer to have at least 1 year of experience as a phlebotomy technician. REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS A valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record is required along with a copy of a valid auto insurance card. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Mainly an office position, however, must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, lift 25 pounds, sit for an extended period of time, and reach overhead.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma or GED and a professional certification as a phlebotomy technician. Candidates should have at least one year of experience and possess a valid Texas driver's license.
