The Radiologic Technologist prepares patients for and performs various radiologic examinations while maintaining safety and infection control standards. They are responsible for operating x-ray equipment, assisting radiologists, and maintaining accurate patient records within the hospital information systems.

Follows universal Protocol by using two patient identifiers prior to performing the exam, using pre-op/pre procedure verification check list, site marked with the physician’s initials (physician performing procedure) and using “Time Out”.
Practices aseptic technique in opening sterile drape packs, catheters, equipment and supplies.
Assists the Radiologist with the consenting of patient.
Corrects supplies are charged and tech notes are written at the completion of each exam in RIS.
Collects specimens, properly labeling and transporting to laboratory.
Assumes on-call status and call back as assigned, responding within 30 minutes of receiving call.
Works cooperatively with all members of the department to resolve problems expediently.
Follows Lean principles and creates SOPs for the Department as needed.
Orients and trains new employees and students. Assists in training and development of existing employees.
Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. License / Certification Requirements ARRT License for Radiologic Technologist Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) Fluoroscopy License - New hires have 6 months from date of hire to obtain BCLS or ACLS Certification Compensation Range $53.27 / Hour
