Position Summary

To support substantial client care needs in Southeast Ohio, we are seeking 2-3 experienced Home Healthcare Aides (HHA, CNA, STNA) / Caregivers to join our agency in a part-time or full-time capacity, providing care and services to existing and new clients in Waverly, OH and surrounding communities. Home Health Aides at HCN are professional, compassionate, and reliable, delivering critical care and living services to our clients which empower their independence and provide comfort, stability, and peace of mind to them and their families. What we offer to fit your schedule and career goals: Immediate weekday cases are available for Long-term employment in a Part-time (15-32 hrs/wk) or Full-time (32+ hours per week) capacity, with additional hours available in evenings and weekends (if desired). Those seeking full-time hours will have the option to start with part-time hours and first priority to add additional clients/shifts for up to 40 hours per week (if desired). Home care experience and/or credentials (incl. CHHA, CNA, STNA) are desirable, but HHAs / Caregivers with 1+ years of paid experience - or those committed to building a caregiver career with our agency - are encouraged to apply. Flexible shift times: We build reliable, consistent schedules that fit your lifestyle. Friendly travel expectations: Standard travel distance for client coverage is up to a 30-minute radius from each employee's home (required). Willingness to travel up to 45-60-90 minutes is highly desired. Candidates only seeking cases closer to home (<20 minutes) are still encouraged to apply but please specify travel limitations in application questions. Mileage is reimbursed for all travel between clients. No Requirements for On-Call shifts, Weekends, extensive travel distances, or overtime (when not desired). Weekly pay including onboarding and training. Back-up accommodations for scheduled vacations so your clients receive care while you're away. Hourly Pay ranges from $14.00 - $17.00 Compensation is based on certifications, experience, work history and attendance, client coverage, and overall fit.

Qualifications

1+ year of verifiable experience in home care or caregiving setting is required. Successful completion of a formal certification training program (CNA, STNA, CHHA) is preferred, and/or a written skills test and competency evaluation. HCN will train non-certified caregivers committed to building a career with our agency. Meet the training and/or certification requirements of the state in which the home health aide services are being provided. This includes specifications of contracted agencies for which services are being provided. CPR and First Aide Certifications required (or can be obtained prior to hire date through our agency or accredited third parties). Willingness and aptitude to perform light housekeeping in addition to patient care services as needed is required. Willingness and ability to perform all Essential Physical Demands outlined in description below. Strong attendance and dependability track record with previous employers. Good interpersonal skills and compassion for helping others live their best lives are required. Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care, incorporating attention to detail in following instructions, documenting notes, and communicating with our agency. Desirable character traits: reliable, honest beyond reproach, professional, compassionate, detail-oriented (in care + documentation), accountable, friendly and accommodating, respectful. Be at lease eighteen (18) years of age. Valid driver's license/ID and reliable transportation to/from client care locations is mandatory. Report to: RN Case Manager / Administrator A successful Home Healthcare Aide provides personal care services under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Therapist in their region. You will be assigned to specific clients by the Registered Nurse or other appropriate professionals and perform services for clients as necessary to maintain personal comfort and safety in their home. As a Home Health Aide, you will: Deliver direct patient care and support, following the established plan of care. Measure and record vital signs and other specified metrics as instructed. Assist with personal care tasks and activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, oral hygiene, nail & skin care, shaving, dressing). Perform household tasks essential to health care and living at home (e.g., meal preparation/feeding, laundry, light housekeeping). Assists patients in taking medications under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. This includes opening a container or pill caddy & handing it to the patient, but does not include administration of the medications. Identify and report any abnormal findings or changes in the patient's condition. Help with therapy exercises under supervision of our therapists (e.g., range of motion exercises, ambulation assistance). Additional Essential Functions and Areas of Accountability: Know and follow infection control policies including proper hand washing techniques. Report any observed or reported changes in the client's condition and/or needs to the Registered Nurse. Document care provided and complete all forms required for the client's records. Complete the appropriate records to document cares given and pertinent observations. Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients by observing infection control practices, following agency guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the Supervisor/Case Manager. Demonstrate safe practice in the use of equipment, avoiding equipment use until orientation has been provided. Notifying supervisor(s) of educational needs immediately. Communicates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team through verbal reports, participation in staff meetings, and team conferences, as requested and through approved channels in a very timely manner. Treat patients and families with respect. Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job. Accept and fulfill assignments with our agency. Exercise good judgment in accepting assignments. Participate in required in-service programs to meet compliance requirements. Identify learning needs to agency supervisor. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
