About the role

The Registered Nurse provides direct care and support for clients with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual or developmental disabilities. The role involves coordinating treatment and ensuring high-quality psychiatric services within the department.

Compensation

$30.34 - $40.22 The final job offer is based on several factors (internal equity, skills, education, experience, and credentials).

We need individuals who are passionate about making a difference by helping others.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse responsible for direct care and support for clients with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or intellectual and developmental disorders in our psychiatric services department.

This position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8

00 am to 4:30pm. There are no weekends, on call, or holiday requirements for this position. This assignment is in person at 790 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse Degree
  • Licensed to practice as a registered nurse In Michigan
  • Knowledge of biological factors in mental illness
  • Knowledge and understanding of psychiatric medications
  • Knowledge of clinic procedures and practices
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws regarding privacy and HIPAA
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology in a mental health setting
  • Knowledge and ability to work within the American Nurses’ Association Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing practice
  • CPR certification
  • Ability to work independently and make independent judgments and decisions based on professional knowledge
  • Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, data entry, and email
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with clients and in stressful situations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Spanish/English bilingual preferred
