The Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties to support the healthcare team and ensure smooth patient flow. They are responsible for gathering, organizing, and documenting patient healthcare data.
The Medical Assistant works with the physician and other members of the primary or specialty care team by performing a variety of clinical and administrative patient-related duties, in the “Front Office” or “Back Office”. The medical assistant also works to fulfill a variety of patient needs and ensures smooth patient flow within the department, including gathering, organizing and documenting healthcare data information. The medical assistant reports directly to the practice manager, RN supervisor or director.
Candidates must have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program and hold a BLS certification. Preferred qualifications include one year of ambulatory experience and a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or CMA certification.
