About the role

The Medical Assistant provides administrative and clinical support to ensure the efficient operation of the medical office. Responsibilities include managing patient care, maintaining medical records, and assisting physicians with examinations and procedures.

Description As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support the providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Below is a list of job typical MA job requirements: Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in electronic medical records (EMR). Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean. Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height. Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies. Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies. Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician. Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician. Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients. Respond to patient messages Assist with prescription refill Ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA Standards Interact with patients professionally and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and polite manner Scan medical records in a timely manner Maintain a positive working relationship with pharmaceutical reps and employees **
  • Prior Endocrinology knowledge is a plus.
