The dental assistant will circulate during oral and maxillofacial procedures, assist surgeons, and manage sterile instrument trays. They are also responsible for sterilizing clinical equipment, performing dental x-rays, and documenting patient services.

Performs routine work involving a variety of tasks in assisting the professional dental staff.
High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program, provided that it included appropriate training in the expanded function –OR- Successful completion of a Florida Board-approved expanded duties training program. None. Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification. If assigned to OHPG – Craniofacial Specialty, must maintain current State of Florida Dental Radiographer license.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and be a graduate of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program or have completed a Florida Board-approved expanded duties training program. A current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification is required.
