About the role

The EEG Technician performs EEG procedures, including electrode application and maintenance, according to department policies. They are responsible for patient assessment, troubleshooting equipment, and identifying clinically significant events during monitoring.

Job Summary The EEG Technician is an entry to mid-level position that performs EEG procedures according to department and Corewell Health policy and procedures.

Essential Functions Performs patient assessment as it relates to electrode fixation product allergies, movement restrictions, and cognitive function.

Knows and recognizes drug and physiological status effects on activity monitored.

Electrode application and maintenance in adherence with the International 10-20 System.

Knowledgeable in correct EEG equipment performance and recognition of clinically significant events.

Basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting, artifact identification and elimination.

Continues to learn and apply basic and intermediate EEG waveform recognition.

Qualifications

Required Required High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Associate's Degree or equivalent Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program. 6 months of relevant experience Neurodiagnostic/EEG experience Required CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required About Corewell Health As a team member at Corewell Health, you will play an essential role in delivering personalized health care to our patients, members and our communities. Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate's degree and completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program preferred. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire.
