JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Scheduled Weekly Hours: TBD Work Shift: PRN position that will be requested to work as needed in the department Monday-Friday with call requirements that include evenings and weekends.
Summary of the Job: Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame.
Provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members.
Supervises the activities of Endoscopy Technicians and Scheduler.
Graduate from a NLN accredited school of nursing. Current LA RN Licensure. Current LA RN Licensure, Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. ALS, PALS required on hire or obtained within 6 months. Endoscopy, critical care, emergency or strong medical-surgical nursing experience required.
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting up to 99 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
