About the role

The psychiatrist will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health disorders, and manage medication for an adult female population in a correctional setting. They will also collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans and provide emergency consultations as needed.

Opportunity PsyPhyCare, a division of Business Staffing of America, Inc., is seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services within a correctional healthcare setting serving an adult female population. This is a flexible part-time opportunity to join a multidisciplinary healthcare team providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing mental health treatment in a secure clinical environment. Schedule Part-time Up to 16 hours per week Up to 8 additional hours per month as needed Flexible scheduling On-site preferred Telepsychiatry available for approved services

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments. Diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health disorders. Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications. Develop individualized treatment recommendations and care plans. Document evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up visits in the electronic medical record. Collaborate with psychologists, physicians, nursing staff, and other interdisciplinary team members. Provide recommendations for additional behavioral health services, hospitalization, or specialty care when appropriate. Participate in emergency consultations and other clinical responsibilities as needed. Ensure all services are delivered in accordance with professional standards and applicable policies and procedures.

Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency. Board Certified in Psychiatry. Active Virginia medical license. Current DEA registration. Current National Provider Identifier (NPI). Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Preferred Experience Correctional healthcare Behavioral health Community mental health Inpatient or outpatient psychiatry Telepsychiatry

Requirements

Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree, have completed an accredited psychiatry residency, and be board certified in psychiatry. An active Virginia medical license, current DEA registration, and NPI are required for the role.
