About the role

The Mental Health Therapist will provide clinical care to individuals and families within the division of Community Psychiatry. They will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses to deliver innovative, community-focused behavioral health services.

Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities

We are seeking Mental Health Counselors and Licensed Mental Health Counselors to join our growing team of Mental Health Therapists practicing in the division of Community Psychiatry. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families while working alongside a highly collaborative team of psychiatrists, social workers, psychologists, nurses, and other behavioral health professionals. Department The University of Rochester Department of Psychiatry is among the region's leading academic behavioral health programs, providing innovative, compassionate care across a diverse network of inpatient, outpatient, and community-based services. Division The Division of Community Psychiatry is dedicated to helping adults and children overcome barriers that impact their mental health and recovery. Qualifications

• Master's degree from a Counsel for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) accredited program with major coursework in mental health counseling required

Licensure

NYS licensure as a mental health practitioner (e.g., Mental Health Counselor, Creative Arts Therapist) upon hire

If licensure has not been obtained upon employment, an active limited permit or submitted application to the NYS Department of Education upon hire required

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree from a CACREP-accredited program in mental health counseling. Additionally, they must possess or be eligible for NYS licensure as a mental health practitioner.
