Under the supervision of a registered nurse, performs delegated duties to assist in the surgical services area. Performs a variety of tasks including cleaning of operating rooms, stocking and disposal of linen and supply materials to ensure assigned areas are kept clean and adequately supplied. Always works as a team member within the entire facility. Performs other duties as assigned.
Performs duties including sweeping, mopping and dusting within the operating suite in an efficient manner.
Assists in OR room turnovers.
Assists materials manager in ordering and stocking supplies.
Assists central sterile processing
Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in cleaning operating room environments is preferred. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required within 90 days of hire.
