Overview Women's Pavilion of South Mississippi, a Partner Practice of Together Women’s Health (TWH), an industry leading network of medical providers in the women’s health field, is looking for a Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their clinical team. As an experienced practitioner, the MA or LPN is accountable for providing high quality, individualized, goal directed care for all patients and their families through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and readies them for physicians; takes vital signs, records medical history/symptoms, ensures medical chart/lab test results are available and complete Prepare patients for and assist with examination or treatments Communicates to patients and office coordinators follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing and scheduling needed for patient Provides education and information to patients and family members Consults with other specialties and disciplines as appropriate to meet all health care needs of patients Uses organizational skills to effectively complete assignments in timely manner Cleans and stocks all patient examination rooms; cleans and prepares instruments for procedures; keeps list of needed medical supplies Completes paperwork such as ordering lab tests, x-rays, school/work notes, FMLA, etc. Counsels’ patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication level Understand and enforce standard health care regulatory requirements Perform office procedures including all general administrative duties Document Electronic Medical Record (EMR) all medical interventions Assure HIPAA and OSHA compliance
