Attends education programs based on identified learning needs. - Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to implement physician order, nursing intervention, and procedures in caring for patient. - Identifies expected patient outcomes. Seeks guidance as needed in revision of plan of care of care. Participates in discussion with members of the interdisciplinary team in evaluation of patient care. - Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems, including population-appropriate physical, educational and safety aspects of care. - Utilizes healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies and procedures in delivery of care. - Assess patients upon admission addressing biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, discharge planning factors.
• Assess and reassess patients on an ongoing basis and identifying patient needs/problems.
• Demonstrates the ability to teach and provide information to patients during hospitalization in a manner that supports patient apprehension and promotes patient compliance. - Demonstrates knowledge of hospital/nursing service policies and procedures by performing procedures/treatment to patients in a safe, effective manner. - Utilizes supplies and equipment in an efficient and cost effective manner. - Serves as a patient advocate to ensure adequate and appropriate care. - Implements the nursing process to provide quality care based on patient needs. - Participates in unit, department and/or organizational improvement activities which contribute to positive outcomes. - Ability to administer medications in accordance with hospital policy and procedure. QualificationsEducation/Certification - Graduation from accredited School of Nursing. - Current North Carolina RN license. - Current ONCC Certification - BLS Certification on hire - ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification within 90 days. - NCI within 60 days.

Experience

• - Prior Oncology or chemotherapy experience preferred, but not required.
