About the role

The Nurse Practitioner will assess wounds and foot conditions to develop and implement individualized care plans across long-term care facilities. They are responsible for performing procedures like debridement, monitoring patient progress, and educating staff and patients on care practices.

Position Details

Location: Marshall, TX area Employment type: Part-time Scope of care: Wound Care and Foot Care Work setting: Long-term care facilities

Responsibilities

Assess wounds and foot conditions and develop individualized care plans. Perform wound debridement, dressing changes, and other appropriate wound-care procedures. Monitor wound healing, foot health, and patient progress. Support pain management related to wounds and promote patient comfort. Educate patients and facility staff on wound care, prevention, and foot-care practices. Communicate with facility staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care. Maintain accurate and current clinical documentation. Travel to designated long-term care facilities in the assigned area. Required qualifications Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited program. Current Nurse Practitioner license valid for practice in Louisiana. Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills related to wounds and foot conditions. Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage responsibilities across multiple facilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred qualification Experience working in long term care settings

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing and possess a current Nurse Practitioner license valid for Louisiana. Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to manage responsibilities independently across multiple facilities are required.
