As a Mental Health Technician (MHT), you'll be an integral part of our treatment team, providing ongoing care, supervision, and positive role modeling for patients. Working under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you'll help create a therapeutic environment that fosters patient support and well-being. Here, you will be a crucial member of our dynamic and compassionate healthcare team, where your dedication as a Mental Health Technician (MHT) will positively impact the overall treatment experience for our diverse patient population. Accurately record vital signs Exercise judgment in patient interactions and report changes to the RN Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team and provide information for development and revision Employ crisis-intervention techniques, conduct MHT-led groups, and use facility-approved CPI techniques Assist patients through discharge, guide them in adjusting to life changes, and help with personal hygiene Assist with hospital codes Comply with policies for a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment, practicing universal precautions and responding to patient care priorities.

  • Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; or Certified Nursing or NAR required; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, psychology, human services, or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.

  • One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Compensation

We are seeking full-time and part-time MHTs. Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $23.00 per hour, depending on employment status, experience, qualifications, and skill level. Requirements

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for a degree in a therapeutic discipline or certification as a Nursing Assistant.
