WORK SCHEDULE Per Diem POSITION HIGHLIGHTS The Respiratory Care Practitioner will provide advanced Respiratory Care to patients of all ages, (e.g., newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric). Care is provided under general supervision in all areas of UW Medical Center, intensive care units, acute care clinics and the emergency room. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Utilize the respiratory care process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to recommend, delegate, coordinate and proved safe, therapeutic respiratory care to patients Make independent judgments/decisions and takes action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient issues Collaborate with appropriate disciplines to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission through discharge in support of the respiratory, medical and nursing plans of care. REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Completion of a respiratory care program approved by the State of Washington Department of Health OR equivalent education/experience. Legal Requirement - Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of Washington.
