The Nurse Resident provides patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while collaborating with the healthcare team. They also participate in the Nurse Residency Program to develop clinical expertise and support unit-based quality initiatives.

Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required with less than 1 year of experience. For Behavioral Health roles, de-escalation training must be completed within 1 year of hire and maintained.
AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
Must attend required Nurse Residency Program sessions. Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.
RNs are eligible to participate in the Career Advancement Program (CAP) to attain various levels of advancement based on performance criteria.
