About the role

The Wound/Ostomy nurse is responsible for conducting patient assessments, providing expert hands-on care, and developing individualized care plans. Additionally, the role involves creating and delivering educational programs to staff and the community to ensure high standards of wound and ostomy care.

Position Summary

The Wound/Ostomy nurse is a registered nurse who has demonstrated expertise, depth of knowledge, competence and skills in the practice of wound and/or ostomy care. This role requires collaboration with clients, nursing staff, administration, medical staff, and other members of the healthcare team. Minimum Requirements Education Graduate of an accredited nursing school BSN Experience Three years of clinical experience License/Registration/Certifications Licensed to practice nursing in South Carolina BLS certification Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) Preferred Requirements Preferred Education · N/A Preferred Experience · Five years of clinical experience Preferred License/Registration/Certifications · Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) Core Job Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to completing and coordinating patient assessment, providing hands-on expert care coordinating and implementing plans of care developing and monitoring outcomes based on plans of care developing and presenting educational programs and materials to clients and staff to support competent wound and/or ostomy care facility-wide and in the community

Requirements

Candidates must hold a BSN degree from an accredited nursing school and possess at least three years of clinical experience. A valid South Carolina nursing license, BLS certification, and CWON certification are required for this position.
