Our patient population includes individuals with heart failure, COPD, diabetes, sepsis, advanced wound care needs, delirium and dementia, behavioral health and substance use disorders, as well as patients requiring tracheostomy management, chest tubes, and other specialized medical therapies. The Clinical Nurse II is a registered nurse with a minimum of one year of recent acute care nursing experience who demonstrates independent clinical judgment, strong prioritization skills, and the ability to safely manage a complex patient assignment. The Clinical Nurse II serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, providing compassionate, high-quality nursing care while promoting positive patient outcomes, patient and family engagement, and a culture of safety.
Per diem nurses are expected to maintain clinical competency, adapt to changing patient care needs, communicate effectively with colleagues across disciplines, and contribute positively to unit operations. The ideal candidate is accountable, dependable, and able to integrate seamlessly into an experienced team while demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, and excellent customer service.
Per diem nurses are required to work a minimum of 24 hours during each four-week scheduling period, including meeting applicable off-shift and holiday scheduling requirements as outlined by department policy.
Essential Responsibilities including but not limited to: Provides direct care to patients and makes necessary nursing judgments. Responsible for systematically assessing the health care needs of individuals or groups and for the formulation of a care plan, its implementation and evaluation. Demonstrates the ability for decision making by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience in caring for patients. Coordinates the care of patients and directs assistive personnel in order to provide safe, effective, efficient, equitable and timely, patient-centered care. Demonstrates awareness of environmental forces on health care of patients and their families. Demonstrates the ability to identify resources necessary to implement the plan of care. Works in a collegial and collaborative relationship with other health professionals to determine healthcare needs of patients and families. Develops relationships with patients and families that maintain and communicate trust and respect. Communicates effectively in the exchange of information. Demonstrate the ability to act as a patient advocate. Maintains annual mandatory education requirements, which include emergency skills and unit based competencies. Identifies needs for continued growth and development in conjunction with the unit based educator or clinical nurse specialist.
