The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct clinical care and therapeutic support to residents, including assistance with daily living activities and mobility. They are responsible for monitoring resident health, reporting changes to the charge nurse, and ensuring a safe, clean environment.
Provides clinical duties as assigned by unit or hospital nursing leadership. Performs active therapeutic approaches to include but are not limited to range of motion, ambulation, other ADL activities to residents of the nursing facility with specific training to do so. Ensures residents have adequate supplies. Maintains residents' surroundings in a clean, orderly fashion. Observes and reports all unusual resident's conditions or reactions to Charge Nurse (to include residents incidents/accidents). Answers call light promptly, attends to residents' needs, and reports to Charge Nurse when resident requires professional services. Participates actively in intershift rounds, and assists with caring for residents' needs when indicated. Transports resident to and from and assists with activities, therapies and appointments. Demonstrates ability to work with and be sensitive to the needs of the elderly. Specific accountability for protecting residents rights to dignity, freedom from abuse, neglect and exploitation as outlined in state and federal regulations governing long-term care. Follows and performs all related unit specific policies and procedures, as detailed on the unit specific competency check-list. Utilizes job and unit specific equipment as required. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Education High school diploma is required.
