About the role

The Behavioral Health Skills Trainer provides trauma-informed support to youth in foster care to help them develop essential social, emotional, and independent living skills. They also coordinate care with families, schools, and community partners while participating in an on-call rotation.

About your Role

  • The Behavioral Health Skills Trainer provides strengths-based, trauma-informed support to youth and families involved in foster care, adoption, or guardianship. Working with youth between the ages 3–18, the Skills Trainer helps children and adolescents develop social, emotional, behavioral, and independent living skills that promote stability, resilience, and success in home, school, and community settings. The Skills Trainer maintains a small caseload to ensure individualized support and works collaboratively with caregivers, treatment providers, schools, and community partners to coordinate services and promote positive outcomes for youth and families. In addition to providing direct services and care coordination, the skills trainer will participate in an on-call rotation one week per month to support youth and families outside of regular business hours.
  • Perks of this role: Competitive pay starting at $21.73/hr. Additional stipend for on-call shift $400/wk. Does the following apply to you?
  • Crisis Management and/or De-escalation experience
  • Experience working within foster care system
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience relevant to skills training
  • Willing and able to work 40-hours per week
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and full coverage auto insurance
  • CPR/First Aid- provided by an agency
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI)- provided by an agency
  • Tier 1 Collaborative Problem Solving – provided by an agency
  • Satisfactory results of fingerprinting and background checks

Requirements
