About the role

The therapist provides clinical services including group, individual, and family therapy while maintaining clinical integrity and documentation. They also facilitate risk assessments, case management, and discharge planning as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The primary responsibility of the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Therapist / Social Worker is to provide clinical services to (PHP) clients, co-facilitate training for the PHP team, complete documentation, and support the clinical integrity of the program. Therapists in the PHP provide intensive, short-term and stabilization services to enable clients to step down to lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment. The main treatment modality is group therapy.

The STEP (Skills, Transitions, Exploration, and Progress) program provides Partial Hospitalization services to youth ages 12-17. The goal of the STEP program is to provide intensive, short-term stabilization services to enable our clients to step down to lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment. All groups are designed to teach youth the skills necessary to help them learn about their mental health, provide psychoeducation, and help them learn skills to feel better and be safe. STEP consists of a multidisciplinary team of counselors, clinicians, a nurse, psychiatrist, and program supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Hold clinical integrity for program
  • Maintain on-time clinical documentation
  • Facilitate group, individual, and family therapy
  • Facilitate risk assessments, case management, and discharge planning
  • Provide appropriate clinical trainings and information to staff when needed
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members and providers
  • Proactively problem solving when identified issues arise
  • Assist with intakes, as needed
  • Support other Seneca programs when client enrollment permits
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training

Qualifications

Education/Experience requirements:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related subject area
  • Registered or eligible to register with the California BBS (AMFT, ASW, APCC, or fully licensed) required
  • At least 21 years of age
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Own vehicle, valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, computer, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a transdisciplinary

Schedule • Full-time • Monday - Friday 8

  • 30 am - 4:30 pm
  • On-site; no weekends or on-call

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field and be registered or eligible for registration with the California BBS. Additionally, applicants must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass background and TB clearances.
