Opportunity Overview

We have an immediate opening for an Phlebotomist Northside Float Per Diem to join our team at Fertility Centers of Illinois to support our Glenview, Vernon Hills, and Hoffman Estates, Illinois officees.

Schedule: Per diem; schedule varies as needed with flexible hours between Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Central Time

Compensation: $21 to $24 per hour (commensurate with experience)

In this role, the Phlebotomist will

  • Perform venipuncture and collect blood, urine, and tissue specimens using proper techniques and Universal Precautions
  • Confirm lab orders in, verify patient identity, and ensure accurate specimen collection and labeling
  • Follow insurance guidelines and complete necessary consent forms prior to specimen collection
  • Process specimens for in-house or external testing (e.g., Quest, LabCorp, ACL, genetic panels)
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper stocking of phlebotomy and clinical areas
  • Ensure biohazard and sharps disposal procedures are followed
  • Provide timely and compassionate service to patients
  • Support nurses with specimen-related workflows and patient follow-ups
  • Communicate clear expectations around results timelines and next steps
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to HIPAA at all times
  • Provide coverage at other clinic locations as needed, including weekends

Qualifications

and Skills Include:

  • High school diploma required
  • Phlebotomy certification or diploma required
  • CPR certification required
  • Proficient in venipuncture and clinical specimen processing
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced medical office or fertility clinic strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and lab portals
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a clinical team
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to start (unless an approved medical or religious exemption is provided)

Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma, a phlebotomy certification, and a current CPR certification. Prior experience in a fast-paced medical office or fertility clinic is strongly preferred, along with proficiency in EMR systems.
