The Physical Therapist provides direct patient care, including evaluations, modalities, and treatments for patients ranging from neonate to geriatric. They are responsible for establishing plans of care, performing assessments, and coordinating with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
The Physical Therapist functions under the direct supervision of the physical medicine supervisor. The staff therapist assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides physical therapy evaluations, modalities and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care. They also assume the responsibility and accountability of the care of their patients who are being treated by physical therapist assistants. Candidates must hold a valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Texas with a SCD or DPT degree. A BLS certification from the American Heart Association is also required.
