About the role

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing CT exams and procedures in accordance with hospital policies and safety standards. They assist radiologists with imaging, manage patient preparation, and ensure accurate clinical documentation and equipment maintenance.

Newport News, Virginia Hiring Range $34.40 - $47.30/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs. Overview The CT Technologist in a hospital setting is responsible for performing CT exams on patients as requested by the referring physicians. Performs all CT exams and procedures in accordance with RHS policy and procedures. Performs patient preparation and explanation of exams, responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, IV insertions and contrast injections, and completes all associated patient and equipment screening and technical documentation.

What you will do Assists radiologists in performing CT imaging procedures.

Select proper protocol to obtain optimal images and provides clinical documentation per scope of practice.

Performs with a high degree of safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of policies, procedures, protocols using safety behaviors.

Responsible for the preparation of equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care.

Follows ALARA principles according to policy.

Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards.

Reports variances.

Coordinates patient care and performs effective assessment, actions, and documentation.

Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.

Detail oriented ability to multi-task organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications: Experience CT experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT) Upon Hire(Required) and CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required) Other Requirements Call Rotation Weekend Shifts Irregular Shifts To learn more about being a team member with Riverside Health System visit us at https://www.riversideonline.com/careers.

Requirements

Candidates must hold ARRT certification in Computed Tomography and current CPR/BLS certification upon hire. Previous CT experience is preferred, and the role requires availability for call rotations and irregular shifts.
