About the role

The Nursing Aide assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care and maintaining an orderly unit environment. They facilitate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers while ensuring safety and support under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Our unit falls under the critical care umbrella. This unit is considered a cardiac unit, and the patients are typically monitored on telemetry. IMC is a fast-paced environment; the acuity of the patients can change rapidly. The IMC staff works together as a team to provide the patients with the utmost efficient care. We are looking for new team members to join the unit that will exhibit high energy, with innovative ideas to cultivate an atmosphere of excellent patient care, reaching for professional growth and help development of a cohesive team environment collectively striving for the same goal of nursing excellence. About Taylor Hospital A Magnet-designated hospital that is a recognized health care leader serving the area since 1977. It offers specialty services that include 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT with cardiac scoring, fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK and elastography). Scope of work Assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care and helps in the environmental maintenance of the nursing unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse and within the scope of defined practice. Provides for personal care and safety needs of patients promptly under the supervision of licensed nursing staff including specific procedures and patient testing addressed in the patient plan of care. Maintains an orderly unit environment with sufficient supplies and equipment in order to facilitate staff performance of patient care. Contributes to effective communication as it related to the provision of patient care and the efficient operation needs of the unit. Facilitates the admission, discharge and transfer of patients on and off unit in accordance with established policies and procedures. Range of Pay Range of pay between $17.74 and $21.72, based on experience

Qualifications

High School Graduate or Equivalent American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Required by completion of orientation. Current CNA certification preferred. Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the end of orientation. Previous hospital or nursing home experience and a current CNA certification are preferred.
