Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour.

Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

This is an Hourly position.

Overview

Position Summary

The Dental Assistant assists in the care of patients receiving dental treatment. The Dental Assistant is responsible for managing treatment rooms, providing patient instruction, completing administrative services and instrument sterilization. Provides safe and appropriate care in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Required qualifications

Education:

  • GED
  • Experience: 6 months dental assisting experience
  • Licensure/
  • Certification: Must receive certification of monitoring Nitrous Oxide within 6 months of employment. Must receive Certification of Coronal Polishing and application of pit and fissure sealants within 1 year of employment.

  • Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program OR minimum of 6 months experience working as a dental assistant in a dental practice Experience: 2 years dental assisting experience with CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) Certification Licensure/ Certification: CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) Certification or equivalent OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 6 months of dental assisting experience. Additional certifications for nitrous oxide monitoring, coronal polishing, and sealant application are required within the first year of employment.
