The Audiology Extern will perform outpatient audiology services including audiograms, vestibular testing, and hearing aid fittings under direct supervision. They may also provide presentations to the audiology team and leadership as part of their professional development.
Position Title: Audiology Extern Department: Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic
The Audiology Extern will work with a mentor under direct supervision to receive training and expertise to aid in preparation for a professional career in audiology. Essential Responsibilities Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position. Perform with supervision all audiology outpatient services including audiograms, vestibular testing, auditory evoked potentials and hearing aids. May provide presentations to audiology team members or leadership. General Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science required. Completed 3 years of an accredited Audiology Program. Experience Requirements: No experience required. License/Certification/Registration Requirements: Working toward or obtained ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Knowledge of audiology techniques and practices. Ability to perform basic patient assessment. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and coworkers. Good computer skills. Good problem-solving skills.
